The hazelnut butter cookie made from 100% Giresun hazelnuts and registered under the Karadeniz Fırtınası trademark went on sale at 80 outlets across 11 provinces, starting from Giresun.
Following strong demand, production capacity was doubled within a short time. Made with hazelnuts alone, without flour or gluten, the cookie also drew the attention of people on gluten-free diets.
Hoydi28 Fındık owner Ayhan Akten stressed that hazelnuts should be turned into branded products instead of being sold as a raw material.
